Helping Hands Ministry

Helping Hands Ministry assists members of Tallowood who are senior adults, widows and single women with repairs or projects in or outside their home. Helping Hands is a volunteer ministry available to men, women, and students. Anyone interested in serving or needing assistance, please visit

Street Reach

Tallowood serves a meal at Montrose Street Reach (MSR) every 4th Wednesday of each month through November at 7:00pm. We have “Street Church” in an open lot near Westheimer and Montrose at 1110 Lovett Street. MSR volunteers serve meals to more than 100 men, women and children. At Christmastime and from donations collected, individual boxes are assembled with toiletries, food and games, and gift wrapped to distribute to Seafarers at the Port of Houston. For more information contact Deanna Fry at

Prison Ministry

Super Saturday and Mondays Prison Ministry – Super Saturday is held twice a year. Volunteers minister to juvenile inmates at approved facilities. Mondays Prison Ministry, volunteers minister to men and women at the Houston Downtown jails. Moonlight Missions

Coed group meets the fourth (4th) Tuesday of every month (during the school year) at 6:45pm in the Fireplace Room. Fellowship with local mission ministries, listen to missionary testimonies, and enjoy doing mission projects together. For more information contact Diane Martin ( or Annette Johns (

Retirement Centers

This wonderful ministry brings worship and praise services to many different nursing homes and retirement facilities in Houston. Mission Centers of Houston

Serve impoverished communities in the inner city of Houston. Volunteer opportunities include food and clothing distribution, kids clubs, preteen and teen clubs, senior adult ministry and ESL classes.

Urban Outreach

Fulfills their mission through a range of programming targeting at-risk children, the chronically unemployed, and low-income apartment residents. This holistic approach to the family touches all of its members by providing activities and services through programs that meet their spiritual, physical, social, and educational needs.
