Sunday July 1

Today was an incredible time for our group. We were able to get an extra hour of sleep so everyone woke up refreshed and ready to go for a full day. We had our first Brazilian breakfast and it was fantastic. There were all sorts of fruits, breads, and juices. Not exactly what we are used to back in America.

We soon left to head back to Liberdade Baptist Church to sing in the morning service. The choir was able to sing 3 songs and the orchestra played selections as well. One of the highlights for the group was being able to sing the hymns with the congregation, despite the language barrier. One of the hymns was Wonderful Grace of Jesus and hearing how the congregation sang out was truly awesome. It was a glimpse of what heaven will be like. Pastor Brooks gave a sermon on praying like Jesus and was able to have Eddy Hallock translate for him. What an awesome time of fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Lunch was another fantastic spread with every type of food and dessert you could imagine. We have been blessed by this church in so many ways. Their graciousness for us being here is truly humbling. They even sent us home with homemade Brazilian candy!

This evening we sang a full program to a packed house and they loved our music and were so happy we were here to worship with them. There were so many people here that they were sitting on the floor in the aisle. The service included 4 baptisms and after Pastor Brooks gave the gospel message there was a woman who gave her life to Christ. What an incredible time of worship we had!!

God has blessed us with an incredible trip thus far, and we ask you to join us as we pray for God’s love and message to be spread amongst the people we come in contact with.

Don’t forget to tune into our concert tomorrow night at 6 PM Houston time at

Love reading your posts! Sounds like an amazing time so far! We are praying, and look forward to hearing more of what God has planned. We had a great kick-off to our Middle School Mission tonight as we joined the Burmese congregation for worship and sang “How great Thou art” in multiple languages! Like you said, such a fun glimpse of what heaven will be like! 🙂

I have performed and taught music classes at this church more than once and it is a very special place! I’m so glad the Tallowood choir had a good experience there. I’m sure you were blessed by the people as much as you blessed them. My joy and prayers are with you!
