Waking Up on Sunday

November 6, 2016

Acts 20:1-12 | | Series:

Are you sleepy? This is one of our favorite days of the
year. We gain a whole hour. How will we use it? Worship!
Luke tells us a story about a sleepy saint named
Eutychus. When Paul returned to Troas, he preached an
interminable sermon, Eutychus fell into a deep sleep and
fell out the window! Paul picked him up, dusted him off and declared
him alive. Then they ate the Lord’s Supper and Paul preached until
morning. Why would we use the first day of the week as a day to
worship and hear God’s word? Sunday is the day when God raised
Jesus and Eutychus from the dead. He could do it for us, too!
