Speaking Truth to Power

Have you ever met a very powerful person? Were you intimidated? God’s people have often encountered powerful leaders, both good and bad. In the scriptures we see that Christians reserve the right to a prophetic role. So when Jesus faced Pilate, he spoke the truth to him. Taking that cue, Paul stood before Felix, Festus, Agrippa and eventually perhaps Caesar. What did he say? He respected the office of power but also spoke unwavering truth. How do we do this in the twenty-first century? If we are dual citizens of heaven and the United States, which citizenship takes precedence?Have you ever met a very powerful person?
