Are we waiting on God? Waiting is hard, isn’t it? It can be as simple as a line in a store or as frustrating as waiting for the rebuilding of a flood-ravaged home or as unsettling as waiting for results from a biopsy. Peter wrote to first century believers who had lost loved ones. They had heard that Jesus would return but each passing day dampened their hopes. Peter wrote to remind them and us that we are not waiting on God so much as God is waiting on us to turn back to him. God’s patience with us teaches us patience as we wait for him to fulfill all of his promises to us. When God comes again to our world he will make everything new, including us!
