One for One
Philippians 1:3-6 says, “ I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in your will bring it to completion as the day of Jesus Christ.” This verse is a clear indication of both how Paul felt about the Philippians and the importance of prayer for Paul for these beloved people.
We are excited to join in the work Paul began with the Philippians and continue that work at Tallowood. Over the next few months we, as a student ministry, are going to have an intentional prayer campaign to pray for every student, by name, in our ministry. We will pray for every student in three different ways:
- 1-1 student prayer. Each Sunday students will be given a chance to draw a name of another student, that they may or may not know, and spend a week in prayer for them. This will not get through the entire student ministry but it will give students a chance to pray for another student in our ministry.
- We will have our directors and Sunday school teachers praying for their classes, and visitors. Every week we will encourage our teachers, directors, and volunteers to pray for the students in their specific care.
- We will establish a prayer list, of just names and grades, for parents to see on both our website, and parent link. Each week we will email out 20 new names, so parents can pray for specific students in our ministry by name.
We are begging the Lord to move in the lives of our students, their families, and their schools. We are using students, parents, and friends to lift up the names of our students!
