Every year Tallowood Baptist Church participates on several mission trips. We want to be active participants in spreading the Gospel.

Brazil: May30-June 7

Located in the northeastern corner of Brazil, Ceará is the Brazilian State nearest Europe and North America. With more than 3 million people, Fortaleza is the fifth largest metropolitan area in Brazil. The gospel is the only hope to thousands of less fortunate people who struggle to make a living on a daily basis.

Hundreds that accepted Christ last year as a result of the medical/evangelism team’s work have been followed up and many baptized. The church is full. They have asked us to go back and help again. The pastor has a vision for developing the area into a community that can bring hope to its people. He wants to have a public library for the community which it has never had. You can help in more than one way if you sign up. We are looking for doctors, dentists, nurses, personal evangelists, people to work with children and servants in general. Everyone can help.

Sonlight Mission Trip - Calgary: July 4-15th. High School Only

High School students from Tallowood will travel to Calgary Alberta Canada to partner with Richmond Hill Baptist Church in outreach efforts into their community. This will include working in sports camps and community service projects. Further a team will return to Cochran Alberta 40 minutes west of Calgary to work with the Baptist Seminary and in that community. In 1986 Sonlight went to Cochran to help start a Baptist Church in that city. That church is now the largest Baptist Church in Canada. This mission trip in 2008 is an opportunity for us to help continue the work that God is doing in Western Canada.

Romania: July 7-19th

The area of Negresti was touched with the gospel and hundreds responded to the Lord Jesus and found salvation as Tallowood shared the gospel with adults and children alike during the Summer of 2007. We plan to return this year to Romania and work in the capital city. We will be doing evangelism, working with children, and working with the local churches in the area.

Peru: September 6-14th - Women's Ministry Mission Trip

The women’s ministry of our church is planning a trip to minister with our missionaries Chris and Jessica Rose in Collique, Lima, Peru. We will be helping Jessica start a Women's Ministry. We will also be helping to teach the women learn a job skill to earn money, such as sewing, cooking, etc.
